Cookery Courses at La Preghiera

Italian cuisine is world famous and the secrets of making pasta like Nonna are highly sought after! Cooking classes at La Preghiera in Umbria are “hands on” where guests learn to make delicious regional dishes. Choose from the half day, full day or three day cooking holidays available at this luxury country house in Umbria.

We have spent a long time devising our cookery courses, to offer guests the opportunity to experience the feel of a real Italian kitchen, learning to prepare recipes that have been handed down over generations, which can be combined with a visit to a typical, bustling, Umbrian market plus an excursion to search for the highly prized “Tartufo”, which is a speciality of our region, the Alta Valle Tevere.

This cookery course gives you all the basic knowledge that you will need to return home and cook a sumptuous Italian meal from antipasto through to dolce!

A morning trip to a local market to buy the ingredients needed for the course and to savour the atmosphere of a thriving market town, followed by lunch in a local trattoria afterwards.

An afternoon excursion to hunt for truffles, the highly prized delicacy of this region.
