Italian cuisine is famous all over the world and the regional specialities of Umbrian cooking are amongst the most popular. Black and white truffles (tartufo) are a highly prized delicacy of the area, along with Porcini mushrooms that grow in the chestnut woods that cover the slopes of the countryside throughout Umbria.

Guests at La Preghiera wake up to the aroma of freshly brewed Italian coffee and warm homemade bread, straight from the oven… A selection of home-made jams, together with freshly baked cakes awaits. There is a platter of cold cuts (prosciutto, salami, pancetta or bresaola) and local cheeses including pecorino and ricotta. Light lunches
In the summer season or on request, a simple three course lunch menu is offered to guests including wine, water and coffee. This is served in the cool shade of the loggia or under the umbrellas by the swimming pool. We ask that guests confirm in the morning if they would like to lunch at La Preghiera.

Dinner
A delicious four course menu is available during the busier months which includes wine, water, coffee and liqueur. This can be served in the elegant dining room or on the loggia where guests can enjoy the warmth of the long summer evenings and the Umbrian twilight...

There are no “standard” meals at La Preghiera, as each one is an adventure which contains the delicacies of the nearby fields and woodlands. Fresh fruit and vegetables, locally reared meats, including wild boar, funghi, porcini mushrooms and truffles in their season.
